Metro United Way and Park Community Credit Union’s Beyond Buzzwords Series kicked off Thursday, February 20th as Edgar Villanueva, a nationally-recognized expert on social justice philanthropy and author of Decolonizing Wealth: Indigenous Wisdom to Heal Divides and Restore Balance, revealed the racial and colonialist dynamics at play in philanthropy and finance, including banks, investment funds and aid organizations.

Beyond Buzzwords is a Metro United Way speaker series on diversity, equity and inclusion that is designed to provide thoughtful and meaningful discussions on these important topics to promote thinking as well as personal and institutional application.
